Motherhood

Motherhood

This is a painting of a mother and child using acrylic paints on canvas. Here I have tried to show the constituents of a mother’s love for her child in different colors. A mother is loving, kind, patient and very calm while raising a kid. So the colorful background I painted, shows the following: her unconditional love is represented by pink color, her energy by yellow, her calmness is shown by blue and her patience is represented by the green color.

Diwali Illustration

Diwali Illustration

Not sure what it was the other day, the smell in the air that reminded me of Diwali or was it just my fiery mood ;), but I got motivated by the thought of the colorful light of fire crackers against the black Diwali night. And that resulted in this abstract painting using Acrylic paints. Bright and Joyous!

This was done with acrylic paints on canvas.

Ganesha's Childhood

Ganesha’s Childhood

Here is one more painting of my favorite models, Lord Ganesha :). I have tried to depict a scene from Lord Ganesha’s childhood where he is enjoying swinging. I love swings a lot as well.

In this painting, I imagined and portrayed a fusion of two far apart eras – the golden age and our modern age. On one hand, Lord Ganesha is swinging in a swing in heaven above the sky with heaven’s snowy mountains in the backdrop and on the other hand, he is studying using our modern gadgets – the tablet :)!

This is an acrylic painting, done on canvas.

Amalgam

Amalgam

In this painting I have tried to show the fusion of beautiful music and the perfect moment. I feel that evening around sunset is the best time for enjoying playing music. So, while imagining that melodious moment, in my mind there came the image of Pied Piper – a pipe player and I decided to make him the hero in my painting.

Delicateness of Parched Roses

Delicateness of Parched Roses

In this painting I have tried to show the beauty of dry white Roses. I just want to say that Roses are always beautiful – whether they are fresh or dry :).
I painted these roses directly using paints (Acrylic) and brushes on canvas paper, without sketching with a pencil first. I was skeptical at first about how this would turn out to be and while I can definitely improve, am happy with the results.
