A Long Shadowy Path

A Long Shadowy Path

Kharagpur, India, where I live, is very green and beautiful. There are many such paths (like the one you see above) where people take dreamy morning or leaving walks, enjoying the breeze and the beautiful views of nature around. It is refreshing for both the body and soul. I go around one such path everyday in my wheelchair and was inspired to capture this on paper.

Pretty Bougainvillea

Pretty Bougainvillea

Bougainvillea flowers looking pretty in the wind. The petals of the flower seem like they are made of delicate, soft paper. This contrast of soft pink flowers and delicate green leaves was looking very pretty swaying in the breeze one evening, out came the hand-made paper and paints and here is the result :).

Lord Ganesha

Lord Ganesha

This is a painting of Lord Ganesha. This world of ours is thought to be created by the great Gods & Goddesses we believe in. So I made this painting of Lord Ganesha to show his greatness… Lord Ganesha seems very popular with artists :), I have personally made many paintings of his, this being one with acrylic paint on canvas.

It Takes Two to Tango!

These are small terracotta pots painted and decorated with handmade painted clay flowers, glitter paint etc. The base paints were shimmering contrasting colors – green, blue, red and yellow. I made roses out of clay and painted them. These handmade clay flowers on the two pots are alternatively placed (pink and yellow are interchanged) to create a pair (it takes two to tango :)). Sequins of various shapes, rhomboid mirrors and designs with glitter paint also adorn these pots.
