Delicate Petals

I painted the base of this small terracotta pot navy blue and decorated it with glitter paint and couple other things. The pink stripes you see are from the net like thing that apples and pears are individually packed in these days (rings any bells?:)). The main decoration though is the two flowers that I made out of clay. I made the petals really thin – as they are in reality for these types of flowers. This was the tricky part – making the petals that thin. They are so thin and delicate that even after the clay has hardened, the petals are malleable and I think in a little bit of a strong wind, the petals might move like that of real flowers! It was really fun working on this piece.
