In these two paintings of Lord Ganesha, I express my deep respect for the deity. Ganesha, the Hindu God of beginnings, is traditionally worshipped before major enterprises and is the patron of intellectuals, bankers, scribes, and authors. His name means both “Lord of the People” (gana means the common people) and the leader of Shiva’s goblin hosts.
In the first painting, I used bright colors for the background and crafted Ganesha using Lippon Art techniques and ceramic clay. I also included a reflection of his father, Lord Shiva, to highlight their divine connection.
The second painting continues with vibrant colors and Lippon Art. Here too, ceramic clay adds a tactile quality to the depiction of Ganesha and adds depth. The detailed background symbolizes wisdom and prosperity. The reflection of Lord Shiva underscores the spiritual heritage of Ganesha.
