For the people of Odisha, Lord Jagannatha is not just a god – he lives in their hearts, in their daily lives, and in their very identity. In this painting, I have tried to offer my humble tribute to His divine greatness and to the timeless culture of Odisha that has grown around Him.
This artwork reflects the rich traditions of the land, where every symbol carries a deeper meaning. The temple represents the sacred home of the Lord in Puri, the the Sankha (conch shell) holds profound cultural, religious, and geographical significance, primarily representing the sacred, auspicious beginnings, and the divine presence of Lord Jagannatha and wheel symbolize divine power and protection of Konark Sun Temple temple, and the intricate decorative patterns show the beauty of Odisha’s artistic heritage. Each element is connected to the deep spiritual roots of Jagannatha culture. The bright colors and traditional designs bring a feeling of joy, faith, and devotion. Through this painting, I wanted to express how devotion is not only seen in prayers, but also in art, culture, and everyday life. It is a celebration of love for Lord Jagannatha and the vibrant spirit of Odisha.
