Not just another summer camp! This is a short art course designed to develop smart thinking, creativity, and concentration in young learners while they have fun!
Acrylics are a fun, fast, and easy medium to learn and paint with. Acrylic painting became popular in the 20th century when artists were concerned about the health risk posed by handling oil paints and their fumes. It is an art style that is created using synthetic acrylic paints. Acrylics dry rapidly and give the visual impression of both watercolor and oil paintings. They are considered to be less affected by heat and other destructive forces than oil paint. Moreover, acrylic paints are known to significantly enhance the tonality and richness of paintings.
In these Acrylic painting sessions children will gain an understanding of Acrylic Painting Techniques – Blending, Dabbing, Stippling, and portrait painting. We will also make a realistic landscape painting and everyone will hopefully have enjoyable learning :)
Course Content
Session-1: Blending: In this unit, I will introduce learners to the elements of an Acrylic painting: Blending. Their attention will be drawn to 3 main blending techniques. They will also learn how to paint smoothly on canvas.
Session-2: Usage of different brushes: Gaining familiarity with different types of brushes and how to use them
Session-3: Dabbing & Stippling: In this unit, learners will gain an understanding of the skill of dabbing paints on the canvas to create a sporadic, randomized texture that’s different from typical brushstrokes. Stippling is when you paint to create an interesting texture that your eye reads as a solid shape from a distance. It involves drawing, painting, or etching dots onto a surface. It’s popular with abstract paintings and can also be used to give a realistic finish to subjects.
Session-4: Bringing it all together: In the final step they will learn how to draw an amazing landscape composition by using blending, dabbing, and stippling.
