I made this abstract painting of an African Lady, to show her beautiful and bold personality and colorful and elegant dressing style.
I made this painting as part of the online art class I teach (to children of age group 12 and above). I used this to teach how to draw a portrait on paper, how to get proportions right etc. I went over how to draw and color a realistic looking face, clothes, and ornaments. Another important part here was to get light and shadow right. In addition, I also taught my students the scraping technique.
I enjoyed this session thoroughly! And I am incredibly happy to say that along with me, all my students enjoyed painting this colorful portrait as well :). And I feel blessed to say that it came out beautifully for all of us!
