I categorize this painting of mine as “something different”. it is a kind of abstract painting.
I made it for India Inclusion Summit (IIS) 2019. Every year, the IIS painting is done by a renowned artist and all the speakers at IIS leave their mark by signing on it post their session. For the year 2019, they had chosen me to create this painting from a group of 8 artists selected for Art For Inclusion.
IIS’s logo was conceived in 2012 and it symbolizes that birds of different feathers can indeed flock together! The signature painting is supposed to present a tree where birds of different colors sit and co-exist together to showcase inclusion in our society. But apart from their logo they had asked me to add something on my own in this painting.
So, in this painting, I added my idea of inclusion with the balance of life on this earth. I first painted the background with three shades of pink, I selected pink because it is a color of love and happiness, next I painted Yoga Day’s logo with six colored petals around the human figure. I did this because yoga is a good means of improving the metabolism of our bodies. The six petals show the six main colors of our life (White – simplicity, Black – sorrow, Green – prestige, Red – passion, Yellow – happiness, and Pink – Love). And above all that I painted a tree on which all the colorful birds are sitting. Summing it up, this painting gives a message that if we include yoga in our everyday life then our mind and body will function in a balanced way filled with all the colors of life and then everyone will be able to live happily in this world :)
