This is my first ever painting in the style of Odisha’s Pattra Painting.
I painted this during Puri’s RATHA YATRA, the Chariot Festival. I wanted to show a glimpse of the Hindu festival – Puri Jagannath RATHA YATRA, which is the oldest Ratha Yatra taking place in India and the World.
Most people participate in/follow this festival for religious purposes. But I have a slightly different takeaway. What struck me was the special and loving sibling bonding between the three deities. They are very different from each other but very happy being together and enjoying each other’s company!
I enjoyed working on this – I got to learn a traditional painting style and did this in mixed media!
