This collection showcases my interpretations of Lord Venkateswara, also known as Balaji, or Srinivasa, a revered form of the Hindu deity Vishnu. Inspired by the majestic Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, dedicated to this divine avatar, I aimed to capture his grace through a fusion of artistic styles and media.
Combining elements from Thanjavur and Lippan art forms, I employed a unique approach to portray Lord Venkateswara. The background is rendered in vibrant hues, setting the stage for a ceramic clay depiction of the deity in the intricate Lippan style. His crown and jewelry, adorned with golden paint and embellished with gems inspired by Thanjavur art, were meticulously crafted using acrylic paints and glitter fabric glue.
Through this fusion of techniques and mediums, I sought to convey Lord Venkateswara’s timeless allure and spiritual significance.
