Lord Buddha is known as a symbol of peace and calmness. He is always very special for me because by looking at his picture or his statue I get my peace of mind and power to work in the right direction. Since my childhood, I had a dream of making a painting of the Lord Buddha. And finally after years, after a lot of hard work and determination, in 2019 that day came true.
Here is my first large-sized painting of Lord Buddha. The painting is 3 feet by 4 feet. This was big for me, as it is almost double my size. It took me 6 months to mentally prepare myself to even begin sketching. The painting was still distant. I was in a dilemma of what and how to paint on such a big canvas. Finally, after 7 months, I finalized on one thing and that was – making a painting of Lord Buddha with bamboo plants in the background. I love bamboo plants a lot. After having narrowed down on one thing I started making a simple sketch of Buddha with bamboo shoots in the background. And to my surprise, and by the blessings of Lord Buddha, I was able to complete this seemingly overwhelming task in just 15 days. I was able to see my dream painting on the wall of our own house. I was very pleased and happy having done that.
This painting is done in acrylic paints on canvas. It is 3 feet by 4 feet in size.
